He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.
A wise person said that we aren’t made to create our own meaning. Rather, we are intended to live in God’s meaning. I can rest with this saying. Thank you, Lord, for all I have and can be and do. Thank you for giving my life meaning because you love me unconditionally.
When I did a word count on my new novel, SILENCE TO SINGING, I found that I’ve written about 6,200 words out of a proposed 80,000. I decided that’s good, considering that I’ve had a very interrupted summer and fall. The book is roughed out already; I’m doing my first manuscript and TRYING to get through without editing and second-guessing myself.
A great writer’s organization, SCWG offers hybrid in-person and Zoom meetings with well-known speakers and sharing of your writing projects. Meetings are free to the national public, and many extra perks come with a paid membership. Some paid-membership perks include free editing, possible scholarships to writer events, and a table at the annual Louisiana Book Festival.
I’ve been a member for the last several years. The people who attend the New-Orleans-based SCWG encourage me as I’ve progressed from a newbie to a published author. Check out their website:
